Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 26, 2011

MailChimp today announced the expanding international growth of its subscriber base with more than 45% of revenue generated outside of the United States from subscribers in 158 countries. As an English language application based in Atlanta, MailChimp has traditionally seen its revenue from markets with a large English speaking population such as the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. MailChimps Forever Free pricing program has dramatically increased the number of subscribers as well as reach around the world.

MailChimp currently supports approximately 900,000 subscribers worldwide. The subscriber count has grown by 20,000 new subscribers each week. Subscribers send to lists of all sizes. The median list size for paid subscribers is 1,278 and the mean list size is 7,768. The largest subscribers send upwards of 30 million emails each month and the largest active list hosted in MailChimp has 3 million readers. In aggregate MailChimp subscribers are expected to send 1.75 billion emails in the month of July. The sending volume is increasing at the rate of 250 million additional emails delivered each month.

While the MailChimp application currently only supports English, MailChimps tech support provides email and chat support in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German. More than 20% of MailChimps support staff speak a second language and 24% have lived outside of the United States for at least 5 months.

Forms displayed to readers are translated into 27 languages and dialects (Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French (France), French (Canada), German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Mexico), Swedish, Turkish, and Ukranian). MailChimp uses UTF-8 character encoding for all languages.

MailChimp also recently announced an integration with Straker Translations making it easy for any MailChimp subscriber to translate an email campaign into up to 100 languages and dialects.

To better address growing international interest, MailChimp is also creating a special team to translate the MailChimp application into Spanish with the launch of a full Spanish language version of MailChimp planned for the first half of 2012, along with support for billing in local currencies.
