The Snow Removal website stands as a portal for citizens to find information about Denver snow conditions, as well as other resources for snow, waste and recycling removal plans.
The digital agency built the previous Denver Public Works Snow Removal website in 2010, and the 2012 site continues to represent the steps of Denver Snow Plan, as well as the citys consistent effort to inform visitors of conditions aligned with the plan.
The new Snow Removal website is built in Drupal, an open-source content management system that has completely changed the way that users interact with content. The original Snow Plan site was hard-coded, requiring site administrators to access the HTML in order to make changes to any of the content within the pages. Now, with the use of Drupal, Denver Public Works is able to change content on each page as needed to demonstrate the citys proactive work to clear snow.
