(PRWEB) October 10, 2012

We have made great strides in the past number of years in expanding our presence, and now have geographic coverage that places us firmly in the top 10 global search firm groups, commented Sylvia MacArthur, president of the Executive Board of IRC, in her opening speech at the alliances Annual Global Meeting (AGM) in Berlin on September 27 – 28, 2012. Conference participants included owners, partners and search consultants of search firms from more than 35 countries.

Talent acquisition, development and retention

In a tightly packed two-day program, a major highlight was a panel discussion of best practices around talent acquisition, development and retention, with eight globally experienced HR experts. They included: Christian Iversen, VP & Head of Corporate HR, Bang & Olufsen; Daniela Sfameni, Managing Director & Corporate HR, UBS Bank; Janina Kugel, Global SVP HR, Osram; Kurt Schoenberger, Head of HR Northern Europe, The Walt Disney Company; Morten Linnet, Global HR Director, IC Companys; Jeff Batuhan, Senior Director, Global Talent Acquisition, Stryker Corporation; Paul Holloway, Global Talent Acquisition, Nokia; and Marcus Koetting, VP Human Resources, Lear Corporation.

The discussion centered on how innovative global companies are invigorating recruitment and retention strategies to achieve the organizations business goals. The experts also judged IRC s lively version of Dragons Den (a reality television program on which entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas to secure investment finance). Each IRC team made a two-minute pitch, showcasing IRCs ever-increasing global capabilities. The judges, commenting as global HR professionals, commended the cohesiveness and team spirit of the IRC membership. It is this unique partnership and support on cross-border assignments that ensures clients receive top level, seamless delivery on assignments around the globe.

Harnessing the power of social media

Best Practice sessions included a LinkedIn presentation and Q&A, followed by internal IRC group sessions on content management/strategy, resource management and the importance of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to search companies. The sessions focused on IRCs expectations for continued global growth. We realize that by effectively navigating through social media, IRC can harness the mediums power to seamlessly communicate with our clients, anywhere across the world, explained Sylvia. It is simply another way to enhance our global boutique executive search presence.
